Fairfax Man Ends Life With Poison
Antone Hermann, resident of Fairfax for the past year, wrote a letter to his wife and family at 105 Faleon street, San Francisco, last Sunday, telling of his intention, and then committed suicide by taking strychnine.
A son of the dead man hurried over after the receipt of the letter and found his father dead. He reported the affair immediately to Coroner Sawyer, and the body was removed to the San Francisco home.
Hermann was in ill health, and despondency is believed to have been the motive for his act. He had lived in Fairfax for some time and busied himself with a garden and a few chickens. He owned two lots there and a residence. He was a retired cabinetmaker, 61 years of age.
