Death Takes Marin Woman In Monterey
News of the death of Mrs. Timothy G. Lamb, one of Marin county’s pioneer women, was brought here this week by William Healion, also a former resident, who attended the funeral of the deceased on September 18th at San Ardo, Monterey county.
Mrs. Lamb and her husband were among the prominent residents of Nicasio from the ‘60s until their removal to Monterey county in 1890.
The deceased, who was Maria Cochran, became Mrs. Lamb in 1864, six years after Mr. Lamb’s arrival in Marin county. For a quarter of a century, the family conducted one of the largest dairies in the county, and sometime after 1875 Mr. Lamb, removed from Pt. Reyes to the Black district, organized that section into the Black School District. He died in 1909.
One of the sons, Graham Lamb, is now sheriff of Winnemucca, Nevada, and another of the sons in a large rancher at San Ardo.
