Death Calls For Mrs. Frances Rice
Grief none the less poignant because death was expected, filled the hearts of the sorrowing relatives of Mrs. Frances Viola Rice when she was called, following a long illness Thursday night of last week.
William A. Rice, the husband, and four children, survive to mourn the passing of a good wife and mother. She had lived to perform her duty, to rear her children, and was reconciled to the great change.
The funeral, held privately, took place Monday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Murray, 314 First street, and Rev. Dr. Landon officiated. Cremation services were held at Mount Olivet crematory in San Mateo.
Mrs. Rice, before her late illness, was active in fraternal lodge work, and was a past matron of the San Rafael Chapter of the Eastern Star.
The children are Mrs. George Murray, Albert E., Virginia M., and Lieut. Horace W. Rice, now in service.
