VIRGINIA G. SHEARER
A memorial service is being planned for Virginia G. Shearer, 77, of Mill Valley, who had been a columnist for the Mill Valley Record for 16 years.
Mrs. Shearer died Thursday at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Shearer was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, the Alto-Sutton Manor Neighborhood Association and Volunteer Friends of the Mill Valley Library.
She was a native of Pontiac, Ill.
Surviving are a son, Allan McDougall Shearer of Mill Valley; a daughter, Julie Gordon Shearer of Berkeley; a brother, William Gordon of Vernon, Texas; and two grandchildren.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the Mill Valley Library or Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark, Suite 6, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the grandmother of Kyle and Amy Pesonen.
