CHARLOTTE B. ATZ
A memorial Mass for Charlotte B. Atz of Mill Valley was celebrated today at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Sausalito.
Mrs. Atz, 74, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Benicia and during World War II worked as a supervisor in the ammunitions department at the Benicia Arsenal.

Mrs. Atz also lived in Napa where she operated a motel and performed on horseback in local rodeos. She later moved to Nevada City where she famed and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Her husband, Theodore Atz, a retired Air Force master sergeant, died in 1965, and she moved to Marin County. After living for a year in Sausalito, Mrs. Atz moved to Mill Valley in 1967 and had lived there since.
She is survived by two sons, Donald W. Hoffler of Mill Valley and Theodore E. Atz Jr. of San Anselmo; a daughter, Helen C. Akacich of Albany; a sister, Marianne Gilott; and six grandchildren.
Burial will be in Sierra Lawn Cemetery, Grass Valley. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Marin County Heart Fund.
