DOREEN M. PETERSEN
Private funeral services have been held for Doreen M. Petersen, 61, a resident of Tiburon since 1953.
She died on Friday at a local hospital after a long illness.
A native of Vancouver, Canada, she moved with her family to San Francisco as a young girl. She later married her husband, Axel J. Petersen of Tiburon, in San Francisco in 1940.
Mrs. Petersen was a homemaker for the past 15 years. For 15 years before that, she had been a clerk at Macy’s in San Francisco.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Gary J. Petersen of Petaluma; a brother, Kenneth Broadhead of Reno, Nev.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. The family prefers memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, Suite No. 6, San Rafael, Calif., 94903.

A Death Notice in the same paper gives the names of her grandchildren: Gregory and Karen Petersen. A brother-in-law, Karl A. Petersen, resided in San Mateo.
