JULIUS RAVETTO

A Mass of Christian Burial for Julius Ravetto, 84, of Mill Valley will be said at 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church in San Francisco.

He died on Wednesday at a Mill Valley rest home, where he had lived for the past several years.

Ravetto was born in Borgofranco, D’Ivrea, Italy. He came to San Francisco in 1920 as a young man. He lived in that city until moving to Mill Valley.

He was a pastry cook in San Francisco for 35 years and had worked at the Mark Hopkins and Clift Hotels. He retired about 20 years ago.

He was a member of the Cooks and Culinary Workers Union Local No. 2 in San Francisco.

Ravetto is survived by a son, Henry E. Ravetto of Mill Valley, a sister, Josephine Brassesco of Stockton, and a grandchild.

The rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight at Halstead & Co. in San Francisco. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family prefers contributions to the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma County.
