Daniel Brown Dies At Home In Oakland
Daniel Brown, for a great many years a well known resident of San Rafael, where he reared and educated a large family of children, passed away at his home in Oakland last Sunday at the age of 81 years and 9 months.
He will be remembered by scores of San Rafael residents as the colored man who worked for many years, some time ago, as hostler at the Kent home in Kentfield, and later as a gardener at San Rafael homes.
The funeral took place yesterday at the home in Oakland and burial was made at Mount Tamalpais cemetery here.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace Brown; Margaret E., John F., Julia R., Walter L. and Ethel Brown, and Mrs. Grace Watkins, children. He was born in Canada.
