Man Dies From Heart Trouble On Mountain

Giacomo Rosa, an employee of the Mt. Tamalpais Scenic railroad, while hurrying up a steep trail last Saturday to catch one of the trains, fell from exhaustion, and before a doctor could be summoned, passed away.

But for the fact that his groans were heard by a man and woman who were hiking over the trails, undoubtedly the body would have remained undiscovered for some time. The woman found Rosa in a dying condition, marked the spot, and then secured help.

The man sent to find Rosa arrived before the latter died. He then went to Mill Valley to notify others, but was unable to lead the rescue party to the spot. It was not until the next day that, with the aid of the woman, who was brought from San Francisco the place of death was found.

Rosa was 49 years of age and is survived by a widow and nine children in Italy. The remains were taken to Coroner Sawyer’s morgue.
