DENNIS K. SMITH
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Monte’s Mission Chapel in San Rafael for Dennis K. Smith, who lived most of his life in Marin.
Smith, 39, died of a lengthy illness last Wednesday in Santa Cruz, where he was visiting friends.
He was born in San Francisco and came to Marin as a youngster. He was a graduate of Sir Francis Drake High School.
He worked as a truck driver for Bekins for about 15 years and for the past five years operated his own chemical analysis business in several western states.
He lived in various places in Marin, including Woodacre, until about a month ago when to moved to Shasta County.
Smith is survived by his mother, Gladys M. Smith of San Rafael, and two children, Kimberly and Debra Smith of San Anselmo.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Marin.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was of Palo Cedro, and a nephew of Florence Brabson of San Rafael.
