Respected Woman Called By Death

The many friends of Mrs. Rita Cabral are mourning her death which occurred on Friday the 14th after three and a half years of illness from a paralytic stroke. She was the wife of Joseph Cabral and mother of Mrs. Mary Silva, and Mrs. Julia A. Gasper and grandmother of Frank, Angela and Howard Silva. She was a late resident of Nicasio, having lived there twenty-six years. In 1914 they moved into San Rafael where they built a beautiful home on First street.

The funeral took place from her late residence Monday the 17th under the direction of Miss Mary Eden and her assistant. Many of her relatives and friends from the south attended. It was one of the largest funerals ever held in San Rafael. Many were unable to attend because of the storm, which blocked the roads with high tides and slides.

The pallbearers were Ernest and John DeRosa, John Cardoza, Frank Louriero, Richard DeRosa and Manuel Souza.

The deceased was a native of the Azores, having come to Marin county at the age of 17 years.
