FLOYD EVANS
Funeral for Floyd Evans, former president of Carpenters Union, Local 35 in Marin, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Madera.
Evans, 62, of 15 Mariposa Street, died unexpectedly in his parked pickup truck Monday morning, apparently of natural causes, according to the coroner’s office.
Evans was elected president of the union local in 1965, when he was a resident of Petaluma.
He was a native of New York and had been a resident of Madera from 1947 to 1961.
Surviving are his wife, Frances, of Madera; three sons, Donald of Napa, Royce of Indiana and Burton of New York; two daughters, Arlene and Gale, both of New York; a brother, Glen Evans of New York; three sisters, Rosa Amidon, Ruth Clair and Elizabeth Fancher, all of New York; and several grandchildren.
