Sudden Death Of Peter Mullaney
Peter Mullaney dropped dead in front of the Court House Monday morning while on his way to the Emergency Hospital for treatment.
Mullaney had been ill for two or three days and had complained of a pain in his heart. That morning he saw Dr. R. G. O’Connell passing the North Shore hotel, where Mullaney had been staying, and he asked Dr. O’Connell to escort him to the hospital. Asked by Dr. O’Connell if he was able to walk, Mullaney said he was. At the hospital both Dr. Kuser and Dr. R. G. Dufficy pronounced the man dead.
Mullaney was well known here. He had been employed by John Buck for fourteen years as coachman and was a member of the San Rafael Lodge of Elks. His only known relative on this coast is Mrs. Catherine Burke, an aunt, of Palo Alto.
The funeral was held yesterday, with the arrangements made by the Mary Eden Undertaking Parlors.
