ELMER J. KNISER

Longtime Black Point resident Elmer J. Kniser died Saturday after suffering from an apparent heart attack while working on his car. He was 74.

A native of Illinois, he came to California and settled in San Francisco almost 60 years ago. He moved to Black Point in 1936.

He was retired from a job as superintendant of the welding shop at Hamilton Air Force Base where he worked for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Kniser of Black Point; two daughters, Joanne Firpo of Daly City and Patricia Kniser of Honolulu, Ha.; a brother, Thomas Kniser of San Diego; three sisters, Ann Stone of Illinois, Elsie Blado of Minnesota, and Betty Tharpe of National City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Private funeral arrangements are being made with the Neptune Society.
