KATHERINE C. GEERING

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today at Our Lady of Carmel Church in Mill Valley for Katherine C. Geering, mother of Phyllis Geering Janey of Mill Valley.

Mrs. Geering, 85, died Friday at her daughter’s home after a lengthy illness. She had lived with her daughter the past two months.

She was a native of Carlton, Minn., and was a graduate of Superior Normal School, now the University of Wisconsin at Superior, and taught elementary school in Minnesota.

She and her husband, the late Henry H. Geering, were married in St. Paul, Minn., in 1920. They lived in St. Paul and Alexandria before moving to St. Cloud, Minn., in 1930.

Mrs. Geering was an accomplished organist and needleworker. She also was active in Catholic parishes were she lived.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Thomas Geering of Billings, Mont., 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday in St. Paul.
