Thomas Winsor Dead

Thomas Winsor, a well known resident of Sausalito for nearly forty years and one who always loved Sausalito, passed away at his home on Sunday evening, a half hour after taking his usual walk around the hills. The deceased was a native of London, England, aged 80 years and was the husband of the late Charlotte Winsor who died here ten years ago. His uncle, the late William Winsor, was a prominent artist, and a member and founder of the firm of Newton and Winsor of London, England, one of the leading manufacturers of fine paints in the world.

Thomas Winsor, after leaving England, spent a few years in Canada, and for nearly fifty years has been a resident of California and an American citizen for many years.

For several years he conducted a real estate and insurance office here and retired from business a couple of years after the death of his wife in 1911.

He was a very devout member of Christ church, always attended services, attending morning services the day of his death and sang several of the hymns during service. The cause of his death was acute spasms of the heart.

The funeral was held on Tuesday. A large number attended the funeral services held in Christ church, Rev. Dr. H. St. George Buttrum officiating. Mrs. D. F. Tillinghast played during the funeral services. Several of the ladies of the church decorated the church. The remains were laid away along those of his wife in Fernwood cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. C. E. Church, A. S. Pierson, Donald F. Tillinghast and Mr. Haldan.
