Former Marin Man Killed On Duty
Frank B. Adams, a guard at the Ferry Post Office in San Francisco, who was shot and killed yesterday by a mail bandit, was the son of Arthur L. Adams and a brother of Mrs. Lottie May Laviosa, of San Anselmo, and was well known in Marin county.
The cowardly thief fired at Adams as the latter was reaching for the sawed-off shotgun which hung over his shoulder. The bandit then escaped with his loot, which is estimated to be valued at about $100,000. The mail sack, containing registered mail, was found later where the robber had discarded it. Adams was 42 years of age, resided in San Francisco, and was a member of Parnassus Lodge No. 388, of the Masonic order.
