W. HAROLD WILSON
The funeral for W. Harold Wilson of Greenbrae, former bank and advertising executive, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Auburn, Placer County.
Wilson died Sunday in The Tamalpais, where he had lived for 11 years. He was 90.
He was born in Newcastle, Placer County, was graduated from the University of California in Berkeley in 1915 and moved to San Francisco in 1917. He was for many years a director and vice president of the Placer County Bank. His advertising agency was responsible for the establishment of many movie theaters in the Bay Area during the 1920s and ‘30s.
He was a 50-year member of the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco and a member of the Variety Club of Northern California.
He is survived by a brother, L. Kenneth Wilson of Menlo Park, and a sister, Madalin Wilson Douglass of Seattle.
