Man Meets Death As Car Overturns

Thomas McHugh, of 1010 Shotwell street, San Francisco, died at the Emergency Hospital Sunday night from injuries received when the automobile in which he was riding went over a bank on the San Clemente road near Greenbrae.

Harry T. Misumi, a Japanese photographer, of 973 Market street, was the driver and owner of the car. Misumi sustained a sprained ankle. His wife and two children, boys, were bruised in the accident. The car overturned several times and came to a stop 75 feet from the road.

McHugh had been visiting his brother, John McHugh, a guard at San Quentin for several days. Misumi and his family had been camping and fishing near San Quentin wharf since Friday. McHugh had been invited to ride by Misumi as far as Sausalito. The dead man was 68 years of age and a blacksmith by occupation. He resided with another brother, Richard. He is survived by two more brothers, Daniel of San Francisco and J. W. McHugh of Stockton.

Edward Fenny, of Ross, who was approaching from the opposite direction, was a witness to the accident and was the first to reach the overturned car. He state that McHugh was lying under the car. At the Emergency Hospital the injured man was treated by Dr. J. H. Kuser. He did not regain consciousness before death.
