LOYAL GRIFFIN Sr.
A memorial service for Loyal M. Griffin Sr. of Greenbrae will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary.
Griffin died Tuesday in a local retirement center following a long illness. He was 87.
A native of Ogden, Utah, Griffin moved to Marin County eight years ago from Oakland. He received his bachelors degree at Cornell College and a masters in business administration from the University of Illinois.
A veteran of World War I, Griffin served in France. He was a 32nd degree Mason, an honorary life member of Weber Lodge No. 6 in Ogden, Utah, Aahmes (sic) Shrine in Oakland and the Oakland Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Sons In Retirement and the Plymouth Congregational Church in Oakland and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon.
Griffin is survived by his wife, Frances Stoddard Griffin of Greenbrae; two sons, Dr. L. Martin Griffin Jr. of Healdsburg and Robert S. Griffin of Bandon, Ore.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family prefers contributions to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.
