Joseph McPhillips Dies in San Mateo
Joseph F. McPhillips, formerly of Tomales, passed away May 29 at his home in San Mateo. He was the husband of Eva McPhillips and father of Joseph, Hugh, Theresa, Jane and Nancy of San Mateo; Dolores Bozzo, of Redwood City and George McPhillips of San Francisco.
He was the brother of Annie McPhillips, of San Francisco, and Hugh McPhillips, of Sonoma, Tobias of Stockton; Mrs. Theresa McGrohan, of Richmond.
Mr. McPhillips was a native of Ireland and was 70 years of age. He was a member of San Mateo Aerie No. 440, F.O.E., and the P.S.E.A.
Funeral service was held last Thursday from the Patterson Funeral Home, San Mateo, thence to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, where requiem mass was offered. The rosary was recited at 8 a.m. and the Eagles held their rites Saturday evening. Interment was at St. John’s Cemetery.
