Elizabeth Rogers Dies With Her 11 Children At Bedside
Mrs. Elizabeth A. Rogers, member of a pioneer Marin and Sonoma family who has 80 living direct descendents, died quietly at her Petaluma home last night with her 11 sons and daughters at her bedside.
Mrs. Rogers was born at Nicasio 84 years ago and lived in that vicinity for 54 years. She has lived in Petaluma for the past 30 years, and has been in ill health for the past three years.
Surviving Mrs. Rogers are five sons, six daughters, 39 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of the late James Rogers, Marin and Sonoma dairyman. Her five sons are active in the dairy business in Marin and near Petaluma.
Her sons and daughters are George, James and Clarence Rogers and Mrs. Ed Gallagher of Nicasio; Raymond Rogers and Mrs. Ralph Cheda of Point Reyes; Mrs. Charles Dolcini, Mrs. Veronica Ludy, Mrs. Lawrence Bettinelli, Barbara and Thomas Rogers of Petaluma; and the late William C. Rogers.
She was a member of the Catholic Ladies’ Aid Society and the Altar Society of St. Vincent’s Church in Petaluma.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that the funeral was to be held Monday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. from Sorensen’s Funeral Home, 400 Washington Street, Petaluma, thence to St. Vincent’s Church where a Low Requiem Mass was to be said. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
