Two Men Drowned Off Point Reyes

Positive identification of the two men who lost their lives early last week off the shore of the Wilson ranch on Pt. Reyes when it is believed, they attempted to swim to shore from their launch, was made at Coroner J. Ray Keaton’s morgue last Friday. The men were William Swanson of San Francisco and Albert M Williamson, a former second lieutenant in the A. E. F.

According to the facts unearthed by Coroner Keaton, the men left San Francisco Monday morning of last week on a fishing trip. Williamson had entered into a contract with the Western Fish Company and was using one of the company’s gasoline launchers. Swanson, an uncle of Williamson, accompanied the young man. What caused the two men to leave the launch probably never will be known to the public.

The body of Swanson, a man aged about 60, was found by picnickers, who informed A. Martinelli of Inverness. Martinelli phoned word to the Coroner’s office, and Deputy Coroner William Sorensen made the trip for the body late that night, Thursday of last week. Coroner Keaton the next day took charge of the fishing launch, and later turned it over to the Western Fish Company. The body of Williamson was found last Saturday.
