VICTOR ECKLAND

Victor Eckland of San Anselmo, public relations executive in the steamship industry and travel marketing consultant, died today at a local hospital after a stroke.

Eckland, 69, headed Eckland and Associates in San Anselmo.

He had worked as public relations counsel for Orient Overseas Line, the Matson Lines and P & O Lines in Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

He also had performed marketing services for the Pacific Area Travel Association and the Khmer Republic (Cambodia) General Commission for Tourism.

He also had been on the public relations staff of Cathay Pacific Airways and a member of the San Francisco Press Club.

Eckland was a native of Brooklyn who had been moved to the West Coast while a child. He had been a resident of San Anselmo for 19 years and previously lived in Hawaii.

Surviving are his wife, Netha Eckland; a daughter, Anne Lise Campagna of San Anselmo; a son, Victor Eckland of San Anselmo; and three grandchildren.

Services will be private.
