ALBERTA V. BURNS
Alberta V. Burns, granddaughter of a California pioneer, died this morning in Mill Valley. She was 86.
She was the granddaughter of Charles F. Whale, a founding resident of Stockton. Mrs. Burns was a native of Stockton and lived there until the early ‘50s when she and her late husband retired to Sebastopol.
Mrs. Burns moved to Mill Valley in 1971.
She was a pianist of concert status and had performed in several California cities. After her marriage, she taught piano and was founder of the Piano Club in Stockton.
After moving to Mill Valley, Mrs. Burns was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists, the Outdoor Art Club and the Triple-C.
She is survived by her son, Richard G. Burns of Mill Valley and two grandsons.
No services will be held. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Redwoods Memorial Fund, 40 Camino Alto, Mill Valley.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the wife of the late Earl G. Burns, and grandmother of Kenneth C. Burns of Gunison, Colo., and Donald G. Burns of Mill Valley.
