Sylvester Lawson Dies Suddenly
Sylvester Lawson, owner of Dillon’s Beach resort was fatally stricken last Friday, while filling a silo near the resort. He was rushed toward Petaluma for medical assistance but died enroute near the Aurora School house, Tomales.
Lawson died in the arms of his son, before the physician reached him.
Lawson was president of the Petaluma Townsend Club and a leader in civic affairs. He was 60 years of age. He purchased Dillon’s Resort about 16 years ago, and operated it with assistance of his two sons, Howard S. and Walter P. Lawson.
He is also survived by his wife, Carrie May Lawson, and a daughter, Emma May Lawson, a Woodland school teacher. The funeral was held in Woodland Monday.
