Respected Citizen Taken By Death

One of the sad events of the week was the death of Peter C. Bruun, the well known shoemaker on Fourth street, who passed away Monday evening after an illness of but a few days.

Blood poisoning from a small cut on a finger was the cause of death. The small abrasion was inflicted Wednesday of last week, and not realizing the danger from infection, Mr. Bruun neglected to attend to it immediately. Within a few hours the cut became inflamed. Medical attention was the obtained. He was later removed to the hospital and everything possible done for him.

The deceased was a highly respected business man here, where he had reared a family and resided for many years. He was a native of Denmark, and was 63 years of age. His surviving relatives are his sorrowing widow, Mrs. Mary C. Bruun, and three children, George N. Bruun, now in the United States Navy; Mrs. Clarence Andrews and Mrs. E. H. Nicolaus. He was a member of Marin Lodge No. 200 of the Odd Fellows, and of Mira Monte Camp No. 659, Woodmen of the World.

The funeral, largely attended, was held yesterday at 3 o’clock at the Odd Fellows hall, under the auspices of that order, and burial was made by the F. E. Sawyer Company in Tamalpais cemetery.
