HAROLD BJORNSTROM
A private service has been held for Dr. Harold H. Bjornstrom, 80, of Mill Valley, a retired orthodontist who served on the Tamalpais High School Board for many years.
He died at a local hospital after a long illness early Monday morning.
A native of San Francisco, he spent his childhood in Sausalito, moving to Mill Valley later in about 1930.
He was an orthodontist in San Francisco for 43 years.
He graduated from Tamalpais High School, the University of California at San Francisco and did graduate work in dentistry at Harvard University.
He belonged to many dental associations.
He is survived by his wife, Cora B. Bjornstrom of Mill Valley; a son, John Bjornstrom M.D. of Santa Rosa; a daughter, Barbara Jones of Portola Valley; and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The family prefers memorial gifts to the Marin County Cancer Society or to the Heart Fund.
