MARGARET FOLLIN

Margaret “Peggy” Follin of San Rafael, a resident of Marin for more than 25 years, died Monday at a local hospital. She was 62.

Mrs. Follin was born in San Francisco. She was a 1938 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

She was active in the Young Women’s Christian Association and the Meals for Millions organization.

She moved to Marin in 1954 and taught for 10 years with the Marin County Office of Education.

She is the mother of Geoffrey Brown, the San Francisco public defender.

She is also survived by her husband, Frank T. Follin; another son, Steven Follin of Minnesota; two daughters, Faye Straus of New York and Madeleine Chin of San Francisco; her mother, Mabele (sic) F. Purser of San Rafael; and four grandchildren.

Private family services will be held Thursday. A reception will be held that day from 1 to 4 p.m. at the family home, 32 Driftwood Court, San Rafael.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills mortuary in San Anselmo.

The family prefers memorial donations to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael 94903, or the American Cancer Society.
