JAMES R. REYNOLDS
A memorial service for James “Russ” Reynolds, longtime Marin County bartender, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
Reynolds, 50, died at his home in San Rafael Tuesday after an illness.
Reynolds had been a bartender at Nave Bowling Lanes in Novato for more than 20 years and also had worked at times at George’s Recreation Center, the former McKee’s restaurant and the former Pago Pago bar in San Rafael.
He was a native of Napa who lived most of his life in Marin and played on the San Rafael High School lightweight football team that won a championship in 1947.
Reynolds served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of Local 126, Bartenders and Culinary Workers Union, San Rafael.
Surviving are two daughters, Holly Gilbertson of Santa Rosa and Sandy Reynolds of Badger, Tulare County; three sons, Larry Reynolds of San Francisco, Christopher Reynolds of Tomales Bay and Jim Reynolds of San Diego; and a brother, Bill Reynolds, and a sister, Pat Reynolds, both of San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
