HELENE HJORT

A memorial service for Helene Hjort, 80, of San Rafael, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Monte’s Mission Chapel, San Rafael.

Mrs. Hjort died Thursday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.

She was the widow of Sigge Ingolf Hjort, a structural engineer.

Mrs. Hjort was a native of Surabaya, Java, Indonesia, who had been a resident of Marin for 45 years and formerly lived in Ross.

She was a member of chapter NE of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and was active in the Decorations Guild of Marin Art and Garden Center and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Mrs. Hjort had no survivors.

Friends prefer that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
