LYLE A. BARTLETT
Lyle A. Bartlett of Mill Valley, a Marin resident for about 45 years and a former newspaper columnist, died today at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 83.
Mrs. Bartlett was a native of Minnesota and moved to the Bay Area many years ago. She moved to Marin about 1935.
At one time she wrote a recipe column for the San Francisco Newspaper Agency called Prudence Penny. She was married for many years to William Leiser, a former sports editor of the San Francisco Chronicle.
She remarried following his death.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mill Valley.
Mrs. Bartlett is survived by two stepchildren, Jeanne Chapman of San Anselmo and Todd Bartlett of Oregon.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Mill Valley, Camino Alto and Sycamore Avenue in Mill Valley.
Visitation will be Tuesday after 4 p.m. at the Russell and Gooch Mortuary in Mill Valley. Burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
The family prefers memorial donations to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael 94903.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the sister-in-law of Ruth Sutton of San Jose and Ed Leiser of Mountain View. Stepson Todd Bartlett was of Central Point, Oregon.
