Son Of Pioneer Family Passes On To Eternity
Henry Ivenson (sic), who was employed by the old firm of Schlosser & Jensen and later by the Hess Lumber Co. of this city for nearly a quarter of a century, passed away at his home following a brief illness, on last Thursday evening. He is survived by a widow and six children. He was a former military man having been an officer in old Co. D, 5th Reg. He was a member of Mira Monte Camp, Woodmen of the World, and Mt. Tamalpais Parlor, 64, N.S.G.W., under whose auspices funeral services were held at the F. E. Sawyer Co.’s parlors last Sunday night. Attorney Charles Reindollar conducted the solemn ceremonies of the Native Sons in a most impressive manner.
Iverson was born in San Rafael 54 years ago. His father had been engaged in shipping on the bay and landed boats at the old Embarcadero, finally engaging in the feed and fuel business. He was one of the first business men to install a telephone in San Rafael.
County Treasurer, Chas. Redding, pronounced the eulogy, paying a high tribute to the worth and splendid citizenship of the deceased.
