HANS MEIER
Hans Meier, long-time Inverness resident, was found dead at his home Thursday,
He probably had been dead two or three days, according to the coroner, who said death apparently was due to natural causes.
Meier, 72, was a native of Switzerland who came to this country in 1929. He lived in San Francisco before moving to Inverness in 1957.
He worked as a butcher in San Francisco for 45 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Butchers Union Local 415 in San Francisco.
Survivors include four sisters, Emma Meier, Frieda Blumer and Lisa Meier, all of Switzerland, and Hermina Yurt of San Francisco, and four brothers, Gottfried and Werner Meier of Switzerland, Robert Meier of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Ernst Meier of Burlingame.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo. Inurnment will be private.
Visitation is scheduled at the mortuary from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

A Death Notice in the Sept. 20 paper says “John” Meier was a native of Herisau, Switerland, aged 75 years.
