Death of Marco Garcia
On Saturday last Marco Garcia, the son of Mrs. Silvia Garcia, one of the oldest citizens of Marin County, died at the family home on Second Street of Phthisis Pulmonalis after a lingering illness. The deceased had reached the age of 21 years and 3 months, and just coming into the prime of life when he was called by death.
The funeral was held on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock from Eden’s Undertaking Parlors, and thence to the Catholic Church where Father Collopy held a requiem mass for the repose of the soul of the deceased. A large number of friends of the family followed the remains to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where the remains were laid gently to rest amid the sorrowing family and friends.
Marco Garcia is the 7th child that the good faithful mother has survived, all the children dieing (sic) of the same dread disease. The father of the boy has already answered the final summons and was laid to rest in the same plat some time before.
