ADOLPH P. BRIESH
As he requested, no funeral was held for Adolph P. Briesh, a resident of San Rafael for more than 50 years.
Briesh died Tuesday after a brief illness. He was 83.
He was a native of El Paso, Texas. He was in the Army briefly during World War I.
After moving to San Rafael in the 1920s, he opened an auto body shop, which later became the Briesh Boat Top Shop, located for many years at Third and C streets. He retired in 1977.
Briesh and his wife, Ann, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1979.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Terra Linda; a sister, Pearl Peterson of Penngrove; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that he was the uncle of Nancy Hunt and Owen Peterson.
