Remains of Thomas Whitmore Laid to Rest

The funeral of Thomas Whitmore, who died on February 22nd, at Cazadero, was held in this city from St. Raphael’s Church on Thursday last. Many friends and relatives of the family attended the services and followed the remains to their last resting place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Whitmore. For the past 12 years he has been station agent at Cazadero and had won himself into the hearts of everyone there. Fully 30 citizens from that section attended the funeral, the railroad furnishing the transportation out of regard to the young man who had been one of their faithful employees.

Besides his wife, Gertrude Whitmore (nee Severence), the deceased leaves a father and mother, a brother Nicholas Whitmore, and two sisters, Mrs. J. R. Keaton, and Mrs. H. Clark. The deceased was only 35 years of age. The funeral was conducted by H. F. Suhr, assisted by Steve Eden.
