Sister REDEMPTA WATSON

Sister Redempta Watson, a Dominican nun and retired teacher, died Sunday in the infirmary at Dominican Convent in San Rafael after a lengthy illness.

She was 87.

She had lived at the convent in San Rafael for about 12 years.

She was born in San Francisco and attended schools there.

After entering the Dominican order, she taught school in San Francisco, the East Bay, Stockton and Livermore from 1921 to 1946.

Sister Redempta is survived by two sisters, Margaret Watson and Edna Brennan, both of San Francisco.

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dominican Convent in San Rafael. Burial will be in St. Dominic’s Cemetery in Benicia. The Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 at the convent.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Dominican Sisters Infirmary.
