GERLINDE GRUENEWALD
Gerlinde “Linda” Gruenewald, a registered nurse and resident of Novato, died in a local hospital Thursday after a long illness. She was 45.
A native of Deer Park near St. Helena, she lived in California all her life. She moved to Marin County and settled in Novato in 1962.
As a registered nurse, she worked for Novato Community Hospital and was a member of the California Nurses Association, the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the Association of Seventh Day Adventist Nurses.
Mrs. Gruenewald was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Novato.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Gruenewald of Novato; two daughters, Debra Anne Gruenewald and Kathryn Camille Gruenewald, both of Novato; her mother, Sophie Schultze of Sebastopol; and a brother, Benius K. Meier of Orleans.
A funeral will be held for her at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Novato. She will be buried in Bahia Valley Memorial Park in Novato.
Friends may visit at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato until 11 a.m. Sunday.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund, the Novato Community Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
