NAN ROOD MacLANE
Nan Rood MacLane, 88, a former Mill Valley resident, died at home in Portland on Sept. 16, friends have learned.
A memorial service was held in Portland. Inurnment was in Illinois.
Mrs. MacLane was a native of Illinois. She taught third grade at Old Mill School in Mill Valley from 1943 until her retirement in the late 1950s. She and her husband, the late William B. MacLane, moved to Portland in 1968.
She was a member of the Mill Valley Community Church, Outdoor Art Club and Mill Valley branch of the American Association of University Women.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Jean Kahler of Mill Valley, and a stepson, Alan MacLane of Lafayette. Her husband, a retired advertising executive, musician and artist, died in 1979.
