ANNE E. ALDERSON
No funeral services will be held for Anne Evelyn Alderson, 26, of San Rafael.
She was slain on Mount Tamalpais on Monday.
A native of San Francisco, she grew up in San Rafael.
She graduated from Athenian High School in Walnut Creek. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College in Washington and a master’s degree in animal science from the University of California at Davis.
She had been a consultant to the Peace Corps in Bogota, Colombia, for two years for an animal genetics study. She also had recently done research on goats and sheep in Montana.
She is survived by her parents, Evelyn and Dr. Robert J. Alderson of San Rafael; a brother, John Alderson of San Rafael; and her grandmothers, Luella Reitze of Walnut Creek and Pamilla Alderson of Walnut Creek.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.
The family prefers contributions to the Sierra Club Foundation, 6014 College Ave., Oakland 94618.
