ELEANOR ‘ELLIE’ GALLIGAN
Former Marin resident
Eleanor “Elllie” Balzan Galligan, a former longtime Marin resident, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 1990, in Yuba City. She was 71.
Mrs. Galligan was a native of San Francisco. She was reared in Bolinas, where she lived from 1922 to 1936, and later lived in San Anselmo and Fairfax from 1946 to 1959.
Mrs. Galligan worked as a clerk for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., in San Francisco.
After moving to Yuba City in 1959, Mrs. Galligan worked for the Northern Counties Title Co.
She was a former member of the Swiss Athletic Club of San Francisco.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, George E. Galligan of Yuba City; a daughter, Diane Geoppo of San Rafael; a son, Paul Pierce of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Albert W. Balzan of Fallbrook, San Diego County; and three grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel of the Twin Cities in Yuba City.
A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday at the mortuary.
Burial will be at noon Wednesday at Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, Sutter County.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society for research.
