ARVID E. OSELL
A memorial service was held Thursday at Stinson Beach for Arvid E. Osell, 69, a 30-year resident of Stinson Beach.
He died on Tuesday at a local hospital after a long illness.
A native of Douglas, Ariz., he moved to San Francisco after graduating from high school.
He studied diesel engineering in San Francisco before moving to Stinson Beach.
He used to own the Surf Club, which is now the Over the Hill Bar ‘N Grill in Stinson Beach. After selling his bar, he became a bartender for Elwood’s in Stinson Beach. He has been retired about 10 years.
Osell is survived by his brother, Dr. L. N. Osell of Bakersfield, and a sister, Lucile Osell of Douglas.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
His body was willed to science. It went to the curator of Northern California, which is affiliated with the University of California.
