ESTELLE IRVING
Estelle Gertrude Irving, longtime Nicasio resident who was active in preserving the history of West Marin, died yesterday in a Petaluma hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 71.
Mrs. Irving was born in San Francisco but lived almost all her life in Marin. She was the wife of the late William Joseph Irving. She was a member of the Marin County Historical Society.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Irving of Penngrove, Duane Irving of Nicasio and Scott Irving of Petaluma; a daughter, Sylvia Merz of Rohnert Park; a brother, Jack Cozad of Foster City; two sisters, Marie Owen of Napa and Velma Duhem of Menlo Park; and 12 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Sorensen Funeral Home in Petaluma, followed by burial in Olema Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sorensen chapel at 8 tonight.
