Death of M. Silva
Unexpected Summons Calls One of Our Good Citizens
For some time past, M. Silva has been in poor health, but his sudden death on Monday evening was not expected. He has been residing in San Rafael for about 12 years, and for a long time has been with his uncle, J. J. Silva, the groceryman. He was a native of the Azores Islands, 37 years of age, and was highly regarded, being one of the best known and most respected of our Portuguese citizens. He was a member of the Macabees Lodge and of the U.P.E.C. of which he was secretary for a long time. He leaves a mother and sister to mourn his loss. The funeral will be conducted from St. Raphael’s Church on Sunday.
