Death of Mrs. Allen

Esther Lucy Allen, wife of William Allen, late superintendent of Boyd Park, died at Park Lodge on Sunday, the 23rd of October. For nearly a year and a half Mrs. Allen had been unable to rise from her bed and death was a welcome release from pain. During all those long months each day brought its hours to her with burdened suffering, and she faced them courageously and with a sweet fortitude that was a lesson to those whose privilege it was to know her.

Mrs. Allen was a native of England, of an old county family of Sussex and is mourned in this county by her husband and her nephew and by many friends to whom she had endeared herself by her gentle consideration for others and her unselfish resignation.
