Drowned at Ignacio
A young ranchman named Major Greeott was drowned at Ignacio Thursday in a very peculiar manner. He was riding a Disc plow near the edge of a slue, drove too close to the bank, and fell in the stream. He was caught under the heavy plow and drowned in two feet of water. A lady at the ranch house, noticing that the horse had stood still for several hours, sent a man to the creek to see what was the matter and so discovered that young Greeott was drowned.
He was only 21 years old, and a worthy man.
The body was brought to the morgue here, and Friday was shipped to Santa Rosa for interment. The coroner’s jury returned a verdict of accidental drowning.
