Death Strikes Sausalito Officer

Edward M. Faught, for 10 years employed by the Northwestern Pacific as a member of its State Railroad police force, and serving as constable of Sausalito township, died suddenly at his home in Sausalito Friday night following an attack of acute indigestion.

Apparently in the best of health, he left his office at the ferry building about 10 o’clock in the evening. Upon his arrival at his home he was stricken, passing away within 10 minutes.

Faught was 55 years of age. He was highly respected by his employers and by the citizens of Sausalito, whom he had served in an official capacity.

He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mattie Faught, and 2 children; a son, Dr. George Faught, of Sebastopol, and a daughter, Beth, who resides at home. He is survived also by 2 brothers, John H. and William C. Faught, and 2 sisters.

The funeral was held Sunday at Santa Rosa and burial was made in Sebastopol. Faught was a second cousin of the late Sheriff James Petray, of Sonoma County.
