Charles B. Shaver Answers Death Summons
Charles B. Shaver, a resident of this city for the past 34 years, and one of the leading painting contractors of former years, died Sunday at the home of his son, in this city at the advanced age of 81 years.
Mr. Shaver had been ailing for several years, and in order to recuperate, made a practice of spending the greater part of his declining years in San Diego, where he hoped to secure relief for chronic kidney trouble. However, the first of last month, he returned from the south in a weakened condition and has since been confined to his bed.
The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Sawyers parlors under auspices of the local lodge of Masons, of which he was a member.
He was the husband of the late Matilda A. Shaver, and the father of Raymond I. Shaver, a native of Missouri; member of Marin Lodge No. 191, F.&A.M.; and Winnisheak Lodge No. 30, I.O.O.F., of Freeport, Illinois; and Gold Star Lodge No. 142, Rebekahs; and Court Sausalito No. 150, F. of A.
Interment was in Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery.
