FRANK A. DALY
Frank A. Daly of San Rafael died Saturday morning at his home after short illness. He was 78.
A native of Colorado, he moved to Mill Valley in 1937 and remained there until seven years ago when he moved to San Rafael.
He was a retired butcher and the former owner of the Green Frog supermarket chain that began in Mill Valley and spread throughout Northern California.
Survivors include his wife, Maurine Daly of San Rafael; three daughters, Kay D. Pieser of Redding, Lenora W. Hart of San Rafael and Frances A. Patterson of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Unity in Marin Church, 8 Willow Road, in San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to the Unity in Marin Church Memorial Fund or to the donor’s favorite charity.

A death notice in the same paper adds that he was the father of Kay Daly Pieser, Leonora Whitman Hart, and Frances Ann Patterson; grandfather of Kim Pieser Hess, Tamara Pieser, Craig Whitman, Tod Whitman and Mark Huston; great grandfather of Jessica Katy Hess.
